Leanin’ Tree Cards

Five years ago when I started painting, I dreamed of being able to share my artwork with others. Many of you know that art made a surprise entrance in my life soon after I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. I trusted my quiet intuition and picked up a dime store set of watercolors. That’s when my love affair with art began.

As each day passed I continued to paint. Painting was my reprieve from PD….still is. It quiets my mind and my body. I tickles my Joy spot…not to be confused with my “G” spot. Never could find that illusive location. Anyhow, I’ll save that for another post…giggle.

As my confidence grew in my painting skills, my dreams started to manifest. I started to envision seeing my artwork on cards and other products. I muttled through the licensing world and finally came across a dream agent who I adore. She believed in my work and totally “got it”. She’s truly brilliant and a bit quirky, that’s why I love her so much. She’s been busy showing my work to manufacturers and has recently gotten me three very cool gigs. Two are in the works…very exciting stuff…I’ll share more soon.

My first licensed deal is with an amazing company called Leanin’ Tree. They have the most colorful and current collection of cards around. It’s wild to see my artwork in their catalog….truly makes my soul sing. They did a beautiful job with two of my images. I love how the inside of the cards look and the watercolor looking envelopes are truly fab! So proud to be affiliated with such a stellar company…WooHoo!

Hi Cindy ~ I stumbled upon your blog a couple of years ago because a couple of friends of mine, and I run an art show called, “Artsy Chicks” in Nashville, TN. I love reading about your journey and this post about Leanin’ Tree Cards was of particular interest to me. Would it be a possibility to talk to you regarding licensing? I know you’re not an agent, but I’d love to hear more about your experience. I’m assuming you can read my e-mail address from my post, but I’ll look out for a reply from you on this blog. I hope to be in touch soon.
    Blessings,
    Meredith

Hi Cindy, I was on an extended road trip last week when you wrote about how exciting it is for you to be a licensed artist with Leanin’ Tree. I loved your excitement and enthusiasm and forwarded it to my manager…she liked it too! I love representing Leanin’ Tree and it’s very fun for me to order your cards for my retail customers! Continued best wishes! Hugs, Charlene
